Ava's fun birthday

It was a fun day. This morning she got to eat french toast as a special treat (the day was full of special treats!) She got to watch extra tv this morning (Veggie Tales) and then in the afternoon her cousins came over to play, which she loved. Aunt Julie and the kids gave her some fun birthday gifts and some cute handmade cards.
Then after her afternoon nap her daddy came home from work with pink roses for his special birthday girl. She had pizza for dinner (her fav) and a pink birthday cupcake, which she made a complete mess of! Then we let her open her presents, and an 88 cent slinky was her favorite present of all :)
Next, we took her to Dairy Queen for a hot fudge sunday that we all shared. She ended the birthday with a much needed bath.
It was a really good day. I think we went overboard with the sugar, though. She had a really difficult time falling to sleep tonight. Tomorrow will be like detox from all of the sugar!
Thanks for all of the phone calls, cards, and presents. Ava loved it all.
We are so thankful that the first year has been so wonderful! We are so blessed to have such a happy, healthy little girl!!

Happy Birthday Ava

Today is Ava's 1st Birthday! (she still sleeping, though)

I'm sure we will post pictures from the day later tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully she has a good one!

Here's a picture that we took recently.

Ava's 1st Birthday Party

Our daughter is going to be a year old on the 22nd! Where does the time go? She had her Veggie Tales party this past Saturday, and she had a great time. Both of my Grandmas (Michael), my parents, my sister Debra (all the way from college), Mary's parents, and Julie and Jason and the kids (Mary's sister) came over and brought lots of wonderful gifts. It was great to see everybody, and everyone seemed to have a good time. We showed the video that Mary and I made for Ava's first year, and everyone got a good laugh at the part where I spelled Ava's middle name "Grave" instead of "Grace." Mary made Ava's "Bob the Tomato" cake. Thanks to everyone who came out and to those who sent presents, and if you weren't there, we missed you. We love all of you, and Ava said to make sure to say thanks. She's been loving all of her new toys, and mommy and daddy are loving all the new clothes!
